Explanation of my "plasma toroid" driver (10.5MHz 80W ICP power supply)
my self-oscillating ICP driver, running around 10.5MHz. It can easily supply over 100W, but this is unnecessary for just getting a toroid.

Nice circuit. I love the cut and peel PC board. I've used that technique many times... I was doing a quick look with the major parts suppliers and both seem to only have the 3kV COG caps on back-order and large quantities. Do you have a better source? Cheers.
I ordered them on mouser.
@@LucasWills Strange. I just checked again. All the 100pF caps in 2,2.5 and 3kV 100pF required ordering thousands of caps. Too bad. I'd love to build one of your drivers. Cheers.
Does it make a difference if the C0G are SMD or regular shape with legs?
THT caps will have higher stray inductance and worse thermal contact with the board (they will get hotter). It will most likely still work, just keep those things in mind.

From my testing it seems to be more stable and easier to get working efficiently. Also this circuit does not require high voltage mosfets, since it runs at a lower voltage with higher current.
An interesting astable oscillator or free runner design..

Not sure, there’s not really a good way to measure the power being dissipated in the plasma
Thanks for reply. Ive also built a CMCD oscillator before,consisting one inductor and one capacitor. However, it didnt work well with much heat generated on mosfets.@@LucasWills
@@Kami23-tg9vi you may have not had zero voltage switching, I’d recommend using an oscilloscope to watch the gate and drain waveforms and make sure the mosfets are only switching when there is close to zero volts across them.
I may need some resistor to tune the phase to zvs@@LucasWills

A few watts, I’m not sure exactly. Gate drivers do get warm
@@LucasWills hell that's really impressive. I have a hard time keeping below 5w or so at much lower frequency using a similar sic.
@@Magneticitist Just measured the current. It pulls 200mA at 15V, so 3W. These FETs have a gate capacitance around 700pF, and I’m driving them from -3V to 12V
@@LucasWills Cool thanks! I like using a more or less standard drive as well to avoid instant driver cooking. 3W is still impressive. I'll have to check out those fets. I had set out to make a build like yours a while back but had a real hard time with anything over about 5 Mhz. Maybe I do just need much smaller gate capacitance.
@@Magneticitist what fets are you using? also, for gate drivers i'm using 2x UCC27524 in parallel, with 4.7 ohms on each channel. you can see the schematic in the link in the description.

Strategy for capter 2: using 1.09 save and load on basicly any room to skip it. In cutscenes just save and feel free to walk (including the initial cutscene, just save and go to bed while in bed)
